I used to live in SE Cape just off Country Club. I was young when it happened probably around twelve, give or take a year. I was in the back seat of the family van as we were driving back from a get-together with friends around midnight. We were driving east on Veterans somewhere between Skyline and Santa Barbara. We were in the right lane, and I don't think there were any other cars around. I was looking out the window, and I saw as the headlights shined

upon a man dressed in old clothing. He stared wide eyed and with his mouth open blankly into the open road.
My first thought was that he was on

drugs. He was walking almost zombie-like into the road as we approached. He then stepped over the white line right in front of our car. I closed my eyes to brace for impact as we headed straight for him. A few seconds later I opened my eyes astonished. We didn't hit anything.
We drove right through him, I thought. I didn't turn around, and I didn't say anything. I thought it was weird that nobody else in the car said anything about him and that my
