My family moved to Fernandina Beach in 2007 but we have since moved. While we were living there I experienced some very strange happenings at our house on Bonnie Oaks Drive. The very first night that I stayed in that house I heard and felt a woman whisper in my ear pssst. Tell Dorinda I said hi.
I have never forgotten this experience because I do not know anyone named Dorinda and it really stuck with me because I actually felt the moisture of breath on my ear when I heard it.

The river front of Olde Town at Fernandina Plaza Historic State Park is a very active place. The most interesting ghost at the Olde Town site is that of a teenage girl Cecile Simmons who drowned in the river in 1922 on her 16th birthday.
If a girl on her 14 to 18th birthday goes down to the river bank by the old dock or out on the dock and says ''happy birthday Cecile.'' she will hear a girl laughing and playing in the river. I experienced this on my birthday 2 times as a teen and years later so has my daughter and her friends.
It will not work if any males are present; Cecile is shy of their presence. It was an amazing experience.
