One time me and my friend were in the woods near the Hartman Dairy Farm which is now Hogtown Creek Head Waters Park. We walked down the trail, and when we looked down a clearing we saw a light gray figure standing at the bottom of the clearing near the creek. We immediately ran down to our bikes and left. I have been back many times and always feel an old presence when I venture of into the woods.

I have witnessed ghosts everywhere I've lived in the Kanapaha area. I have always been sensitive to them, but this area is very active. I learned all about the history of this area, and it explains a lot. A house I lived in on 42nd Pl. Right next to Kanapaha Park had an imprint in the hallway of a spirit, pacing. There was another ghost that used to watch us from the kitchen and a few in our bedroom. The one in my bedroom I could see most clearly was my grandfather. Then I saw another curly haired white man. He looked like someone from the early 1800s (around when Haile/Kanapaha was established. )

Then there was a dark presence that hovered over me now and then. I'm not certain that thing was ever alive. Anyhow now I live in Valwood which used to be plantation and is near both the old church and cemetery. There is a ghost in this house as well. The houses in this area are newer, from around the 70s. My only guess is that it could be a lost spirit from that area that claimed the residence. I have NEVER experienced a ghost this physical. They have opened and closed drawers, rustled items in closets, knocked things over, and most notably, when I told my husband who didn't believe me, the footrest on the couch came up without anyone touching it. He believed me after that.
The next day I had my fridge open getting lunch, and the ghost had taken an onion half in my veggie drawer and SLAMMED it on to the side of the fridge while I was not touching it at all. I'm not too sure what to think of it. Could be a Seminole, a slave, a soldier, or just someone from that time. They haven't revealed themselves to me yet. Has anyone else had experiences in this area of town?.
