We live in Lake Catherine Circle in Groveland. My husband and I questioned all the time why our dogs usually go in our master bedroom closet. They go in and out constantly. A couple of nights ago I saw a shadow behind me in the master bathroom and felt a presence but didn't feel afraid. I looked again, and there was nothing. I've seen shadows in the kitchen next to our bedroom, and the other night I was watching TV and saw the dogs going in and out of the closet. Then a figure of a young girl, perhaps around 10 years old with shoulder length dark hair, walked into the walk-in closet. I took a second look, and it was not there anymore.
I told my husband, and he said ''I didn't want to tell you, but I've seen her too in the hallway and in the living room, and last night she walked towards me and she turned into a baby girl and was lying down on top of me resting comfortably like she wanted to go to sleep. I didn't want to tell you, so you wouldn't be afraid because I didn't feel any fear either, just felt very calm. '' Does anyone know of any occurrence in the area surrounding Lake Catherine Circle? Any deaths of a young girl at any time? Thank you. Submitted by MCC

Recently I visited the Lake Catherine Blueberry Farm to have some fun with my family. We walked around and enjoyed the festivities going on. I was at the playground part when I saw in the blueberry field a little girl. Of course I wondered where her parents would be. I looked away, and when I looked back she was gone. I have heard of a story where a little girl went missing on the farm over a hundred years ago. According to the story the girl's name was Catherine. Probably why the lake is called Lake Catherine. Anyone else seen her?. Submitted by Lee
Comment by Ashley: All the lakes in that area were named after family members of the original settlers, so you're not wrong. The area used to be called Villa City and was intended to be an actual city or township. It was founded by George t King and Archibald R Gano. George named a few lakes after his daughters, I believe, or other family members. Not sure who named the rest of them.
