When I was 17 yrs old I was driving home around 10:30 at night from a friend's house. To get home I had to pass over the Mulat Bayou Bridge. I looked down to change the radio and when I looked up there was a child standing on the side of the road at the head of the bridge.
He was pale and greenish and almost looked like he was glowing. His face was thin and his eyes were dark and sunken. His clothing hung from his body and his legs seemed to end at his knees. I handled it like a completely rational sane human being: I screamed like a little girl and nearly wrecked my car by slamming on the brakes and screeching to a halt.

A moment later I realized that I a 17 yr old girl had stopped my car and was now looking at a glowing child on the side of the dark empty road all by myself. I also realized that this was like a scene in a horror movie.

A scene that would have me screaming ''Run dummy! Run! '' from the audience so I hit the gas as hard as I could and booked. I made it the rest of the way home in record time and ran all the way from the driveway through the house and to the relative safety of my bedroom.
(then I realized that I was alone in my bedroom with the huge windows that would be the perfect size for scary ghost children to stand at and decided that for safety's sake I should go protect my younger sister from the scary ghost child and slept in there.
(For her safety of course. ) in all the years that I lived there and that my parents lived there I never saw the child again. 15yrs later I still find myself looking for it every time that I cross that bridge at night and will usually go the long way around to avoid it.
