My parents used to own a house in New Smyrna that served as our beach house for a few years and then they sold it to my brother and his wife who currently live there with their teenage son. Occasionally I would stay in the house for a couple of days either by myself or with my friend Tracy.
If I was alone the only manifestations would be soft noises in the kitchen at night. It sounded exactly like a person that is unfamiliar with how the kitchen is set up looking for something but trying to refrain from waking anyone up.

If Tracy was staying there with me the situation would be amped up a little bit. Small objects would disappear and reappear in odd places. We tried to chalk it up to us being forgetful as to where we put them until the incident with my glasses.

I have terrible eyesight so when we would watch TV at night I would have my glasses on and then when we turned it off I would set them on the arm of the futon to have them handy for the next morning.
One morning they were no longer on the arm so we started to look for them. Under the futon, under the mattress of the futon, under the book case right next to it, the bathroom, the bed where I had thrown all my stuff etc.
Finally I decided to just put in my contact lenses so we could go out and enjoy the beach. Now Tracy and I did not sleep in the spare bedroom as the beds were horribly uncomfortable so we used them to pile our clothes on; my stuff on one bed and hers on the other one.
