I'm not sure why so many people share lies about the Martin house. If you do actual research and your own local library, you will find the history of it and the truth. If anywhere near that house is haunted it would be across the street near the old oak tree. Mr. Martin's mother lived in a haunted house near it, and someone was in fact killed in that Martin house that's no longer there.

When I was in my late teens I was driving home one night on a road that runs beside Greenwood Cemetery and then next to some pretty run-down apartments before crossing Frankford. The weather was clouding up to storm, but there was no rain or lightning yet. Then but I saw what I took at the time to be ball-lightning. The cemetery has a fence around it and a ditch between the fence and the road. Just as I passed the gate, a round object like a very brilliant soap-bubble roughly 8'' across came weaving along above the ditch. It flew very quickly staying mostly the same height vertically but wavering back and forth. It left a sort of streak or trail behind it like a comet. I was still driving, though I remember that I pulled my foot off the accelerator; it streaked past me and just kept going, fading out of sight before it reached the intersection behind me.

Natural phenomena or a ghost? I don't know. It looked an awful lot like drawings I've seen since then of spirit-flames in Japanese manga! But this was long decades before I had ever heard of that, so I don't know. I do know that the whole thing took maybe 4 or 5 seconds, and that my car coasted nearly to a stop before I shook off the shock enough to keep going. .

I grew up in a house on Taylor Road in the Springfield area. Creepy things happened there all the time. The ''thing'' that haunted us was named Wayne. We know because he told us. He would send us texts. I know it's so weird, but I was terrified because of this.
