had their own room. My oldest would turn the TV up very loud. When I told her she had to turn it down before she went to sleep she told me she couldn't sleep without it loud. When I asked her why she said that the crying babies kept her up and it scared her. We didn't have a baby.
My other daughter said she heard the crying babies too. When I asked her where she heard them they both said ''in the walls''. The next day there was a large yard sale

at the church across the street. I found the preacher and asked if he knew anything about the house. He then began to explain that the house used to be
|
a doctor's office and many patients were mothers-to-be. They would have the children in the house, but that many of them died there. I also learned the doctor would treat slaves in secret. There was a legend that when they died the bodies were dropped into the well located in the front yard. It had been filled in at one time but you can see where it used to be.
