I lived near Carters Lake down a long dirt road that ran behind a church and cemetery. When we first saw the house I felt uneasy, but my boyfriend had made arrangements for special financing, and we had to move in. When moving our things in one day I instantly felt this urgent desperation to get out. It was as if someone was pointing a gun at you. It sent shivers down my spine, and I ran out of the house leaving the door open and drove away. After

we got settled things seemed not so bad for a while.
One night as I was driving towards the house down the long dirt road, something caught my

attention. It looked like the most enormous house cat ever. I thought it had to be a bobcat or cougar or something. Not being from Georgia I had no idea what critters could be out there, but I had never heard of a 3-foot tall housecat. I let it go as me being unfamiliar with country living. Thank god, we only lasted there a year before my boyfriend left, and I got myself and kids out of that home.
