I never actually saw anything but we lived on Hampton road at the time not far from Lovejoy High School and every night I would hear the sound of a train whistle even though there are not any tracks close enough for me to hear anything like that. Years later I learned that back during the Civil War there was a train that ran close enough for anyone to hear and that people report still hearing it. It's a ghost train, could that have been

what I was hearing?. Submitted by Jennifer
Comment by Thetruth: Wow. I cannot believe this person is lying about Hampton, GA. The are double railroad tracks that run through the entire city. At night because of all of the stop signs at the railroad crossings you hear the trains constantly blowing their horns.

Comment by anonymous: Yeah the ''ghostly train'' story is a bit odd because I agree you can always hear train noises. The tracks that run through Hampton used to be a daily transport route for the Nancy Hanks a passenger train. My grandparents live in a rambling old house on Main St that faced the tracks. That house was scary but only one part. The long hallway had a very eerie uncomfortable oppressive feeling and you just didn't want to be there. It always felt like something evil was hiding in the shadows and it made you want to run. One night while watching TV I saw the apparition of my grandfather pass from that hallway into the formal living room.
I could clearly see the colors of his clothing but his face and hands were like TV static. My grandfather had been dead for about 7 years. The house is owned by someone else now but I would love to have the opportunity to go in it one more time to see if that creepy feeling is still in that hallway.
