I'm a taxi driver out of Dalton. I had a trip to Lafayette. After I had dropped the trip off I drove back to Dalton through downtown. I crossed over a set of railroad tracks, and there was a locomotive parked there standing right beside the roadway. In front of the locomotive was a soldier. I believe he was a Union soldier. This was strange to me because it was two or so in the morning. This guy was sitting here saluting and didn't even take any notice

to me. Do you folks in Lafayette have some crazy dude that runs around at two in the morning downtown, or do you have a ghost? It still gives me goose

bumps to think about it. Submitted by Tim
Comment by Nathan: Not really from Lafayette but I work there. I haven't seen a Union soldier there but I have seen a guy that wears a Confederate uniform and carries a Confederate uniform. It was in September so it may have been in memorance of the battle of Chickamauga. If it was the same guy not sure why he'd be out at 2 am. However there were battles fought in the downtown area so there's a good chance it was a ghost.
Comment by Mackenzie: No. He's not a ghost. He's a really sweet guy actually. He suffers from PTSD. He walks around Lafayette all the time. Everybody knows him. He's great.
