Back in the late 1990s I lived on Locust Grove off Hwy 42. One night I was driving home towards what was once called Davis Road off Hwy 42. Just past the old courthouse, I saw a very old man carrying a very old suitcase (one that looked like it was from the 1930s-40s). He appeared to be hitchhiking. solid figure, no ghostly appearance. He wasn't picked up by anyone. (I was the only car on the road.) He could not have moved that quickly. I remember

mentioning it to an officer that lived in the area and was told they have received calls about this appearance in the past but nothing to report.

Comment by Wilber: This stuff is absolutely crazy true!! The purple man is a legend that goes back 100 years. He was shot in the Melrose Tavern, and his killer was never put to Justice.
