I worked for an attorney in Monroe in an over 100 years building.... As I transcribed his tapes I always heard voices... One said that the client he was in the room with was guilty it spoke the whole time during his questioning of the client.. Needless to say he did not believe..

Had I known what ghosts spirits were while growing up in our house on Edwards Street I would have lost my mind. Actually I questioned my mental heath because of the odd experiences that occurred. Something I could not see would sit on my bed at night. I remember thinking the dog jumped on the bed. There was no dog on my bed, but there was always a visible impression of pressure on or near where I felt the movement. Often I saw the shadow of a very tall man at the front door. I would open the door to greet, and nobody was there.

The most unusual activity really upset me. Back then I did not know anything about possible hauntings spirits much less residual energy that could play a picture of something or repeat sounds that may have happened in the past. Therefore I did question my sanity. When walking down the hall I would see a brown bottle fly in the air coming from behind me and crash in the left corner of the hall in front of me. No sound, just an old fashioned type bottle with a cork that took flight often. I now know it was likely a residual occurrence replaying over and over. Nevertheless, intelligent or not I know now that there was something not of the living in our old house!.

Yes, Monroe is horrible; you can feel there are ghost around in Monroe. Monroe has like a weird feeling. I lived there for about most of my life. I moved when my parents got divorced. At my old house I had curtains in my room, and there always was an opening in the curtain like someone was looking at me. I was never harmed or anything. I heard footsteps in my room and banging on the closet door, but sometimes just random things happened. My parents didn't believe me, but it started when I was in 3rd grade when Bloody Mary was popular.
