When I was 12 years old my grandpa had a small field where he always grew peanuts. One day he sent me to the field to pull up a big bag of peanuts for grandma. I filled a burlap bag full of peanuts and began walking back to the house which was just past the trees.
I heard someone call my name real loud but there was nobody around any where. Then someone threw a small rock at me and there was nobody to be seen. I was getting real bad scared and ran all the way back to the house with the bag of peanuts over my shoulder.

When I told grandpa he just shook his head and told me the man who sold him that land told him it was haunted by the ghost of a really mean boy. There was once a small shack in the field where the mean boy lived with his mean daddy.

They got in a fight one day and the daddy shot the boy and killed him. And then the daddy shot himself and committed suicide. Grandpa says that if he ever saw a ghost of the boy in the field he would then believe in ghosts.
But he does not believe in them now and told me I just got too hot pulling peanuts. I wish I had never told him about the ghost voice or the rock being thrown at me.
