Scared the hell out of me. Wasn't until a few years ago I found out bemiss used to be called--I sh** you not-- the highway of death. Figures.

Back in 2000 / 2001 our apartment complex caught fire and our cat died due to smoke inhalation in the master bedroom. A few years ago we were at a house party and a discussion was started about ghost stories.

One lady was telling us about a ghost cat in her apartment. She would feel it jump on her bed and walk towards her as she lay in bed. It would meow and chirp at night but she didn't have a cat. It was a quirky story and asked where she lived she said the Carmar off of Williams and I said that we used to live there until it caught fire.

Turned out that she lived in our old apartment where our cat died. When I said that she turned pale and just left the party. I've always wondered if that was the spirit of our poor kitty and if it's still there.

I was renting a house across from my parents house where I grew up. ''Out in the sticks'' people would say. One day after coming back from Wal-Mart, I had my arms loaded with bags and managed to unlock the front door. As soon as I walk in and start to lift my head up, I see a white lady with blonde hair and a white and blue dress on standing in the hallway that I had to pass to get to the kitchen. I slightly screamed and stepped back because I thought someone was in my house. In a blink of an eye she was gone.
