I was driving on Simonton bridge road one late evening. It was about 10:30 pm. I had just passed spring circle when I saw a young man standing by the road to my right. He looked very pale and was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
I saw also that he had flowers in his hand. I thought that was strange but not unusual. I slowed down thinking he might need help or a ride. As I approached him, I lowered my window. I asked him if everything was OK with

him and if he needed a ride. He just smiled at me though it was a sad smile. I drove off but once I looked back in my rear view mirror he was nowhere

to be found. There was a cemetery nearby so maybe that's why he didn't need a ride.

Comment by Scott: In 2017 my wife and I along with my oldest step-daughter and her friend were leaving Athens on White Hall Road. We came to a wooded area going up a hill and saw a black man walking with a white shirt on his shoulder and tan pants walking in the opposite direction on the other side of the road in the middle of that lane with a walking stick. He made no expression when my lights hit his face. It was close to 3 in the morning. We were talking about how strange that was when a few miles down the same road on the other side of Watkinsville we saw the same man walking in the same direction he was before.
