In December of 1997 around 9:00 pm I was driving the back roads to Belmont. The lonely road between Red Bud Road and Moores Mill Road has a strange light that flashes in the woods just next to a gravel road.
It flashed bright as a welder. It was sleeting that night so I backed up to identify it. It was still flashing deep in the bottoms. There were no power lines down. They were across the road. I have heard other light sightings in the same area dating

back for decades.

Comment by Ginger: I lived in this same area from 1999 until 2004. I saw this same flash of light several times. Once I was on the phone when the flash of light occurred and it disrupted the phone lines for 2 or 3 minutes.
I even had the power company come out and make sure all the electrical lines were OK. They couldn't find anything wrong. I was also told that this mysterious flash of light had been happening for years.
