I live in Byhalia and when I was outside today I saw a large white figure with a hunchback any ghost stories on him? He was walking in the woods. Submitted by anonymous

A man we called Booster was hit by the train I think you are referring to in the 70s. He used to walk those tracks from his home to town. It has been reported in the community that he was murdered and placed on those tracks. He was a father and grandfather, not hobo.

I found a piece of paper that my late mother had written. It looked like she was taking notes while talking on the phone. ''Been to Tulsa (convention). Murdered. Something in pocket gone. Stepped off train in Byhalia. Found beside railroad tracks (dead) (in uniform).'' Any idea who that may have been or have you heard this story? Might account for the haunted rail road tracks!. I'm surprised how few people in Byhalia seem to know about the haunted railroad tracks running through town. It's the old story about a hobo that was hit by a train and died and now haunts the tracks. It's a common story I know, but that doesn't make it any less true.
