The adults there ran into the kitchen in time to see a dark shadow dart into a fruit closet. No dishes were found to be broken. Such occurrences had such a profound effect on my family that the stories were still being told many years later as I was growing up.

During the 40s my parents rented an old house in Corinth where the old Moses Boat place later was built just west of K-mart. The place was haunted by an old woman who had gone crazy and died there in the 20s or 30s. Many strange stories were told during my childhood about footsteps on the stairs and doorknobs rattling during the night. My older sister was a child then and remembers the name Creasy being associated with this house. All my adult life I have wondered who owned the haunted house in Corinth, MS.

I got out of school, and I was wondering why my brother wasn't on the bus. My brother had checked out of school because the people on the news channel wanted to interview him about something. When I got home they had told me that my brother's best friend Andrew had been shot. A couple of days later we were going to the store to buy something, and this lady came up to us and told us that Andrew's brother put on facebook that Andrew had died in the hospital. I didn't believe her, until the wake. His sister came around and gave us an invitation to his wake. A couple of days after that we went to the wake but didn't go to the funeral.
After the wake I went take a shower and go to bed. It was around 4-5 o'clock in the morning when it started to get cold. I thought maybe the air was on, but then I realized I was sweating like badly sweating. I felt somebody watching me, but I didn't see anybody. I started crying a little bit, and I was getting angry because my brother and my momma were asleep. I went to wake my momma up, and she didn't tell me, but she knew what was going on. The next day, I was getting ready for school I told my momma what had happened. I told her that I thought Andrew had come to see me. Then I realized that I had Andrew's picture up on my wall. I may sound crazy, but I think every time that I had looked up at that picture he would smile at me. Maybe he was trying to tell me something.
