Do you guys have any recommendations on the best spots to see it? I read mostly positive things about Feedmill, but like I said not much happened for us anyways. Any recommendations on how to see it?. Submitted by Briana

The Chapel Hill lights are absolutely real. I went there with some friends several years ago. My friend drove his new car. We pulled onto the tracks and parked. Sure enough, after a few minutes, we saw a light far down the track, bobbing back and forth and heading in our direction. As it got closer, it got brighter and bigger, but continued that appearance of swinging slightly from side to side. When it was about a hundred yards or so from us, we decided it was time to get out of there.

At about that time, we heard the train whistle blow from the opposite direction. He tried to start his new car, and the engine would not turn over. We had the light coming at us from one side, the train from the other, and the stalled car. Needless to say, we were freaking out. The car started just in time to miss the train. We couldn't help to look back to see how close we had come to being hit. As we looked back, the light continued to move along the track and passed several cars into the train before disappearing. We never went back.

I went to Chapel Hill in 1995 when I was 12 years old and I was being told the story of the Chapel Hill ghost. As we came upon the tracks the car stopped, I don't know if my friend's parent stopped the car or it stopped all by itself but he told me to look left. When I did I saw a house that nobody lived in obviously, and a light came on for a few seconds. Then on the tracks I saw a headless figure walking towards us with a lantern in his right hand swinging back and forth. As it walked closer I began screaming, begging him to move the car and just go. I was crying and very scared, the figure did pass through the car and continued on. But I heard that the man was looking for his wife on the tracks when his head was chopped of by the piece hanging off the train. Submitted by Nellie
