It was a cold wet hazy night back in 1972, and as I recall, I was hanging out with my buds at the Saturday Night Elora Auction. The auction had not yet started, so we would listen to and mock our elders as they told the stories of Elora's days past. It was almost certain that someone would bring up a good ghost story, and the subject of the light at Milner's Switch wound make the grade every time. We had heard so many versions of it and thought it

was nothing more than pure bunk. After the elders dispersed into the auction house, for reasons unknown, our motley crew discussed and actually decided

that it would be a great idea to drive to the switch and park our car across the railroad track and wait for the so-called ''light'' to appear.
So me being out numbered in the votes, we climbed into our cruiser of the night. As I recall, it was a 1964 two-door Olds Cutlass. We drove in from the south side on a small narrow dirt road the led us toward the old railroad switch yard. We went up to where the road crossed the tracks. This was about a half
