Our family owns the farm through which the railroad once ran. The bridge where the light was seen was only a few hundred yards from their house. My dad Frank told me about this light all the time growing up. It was long gone before I was born so I never got to see it. It's interesting to see corroborating stories about the light. He said people would come all the time to sit in their driveway and watch the light.

My husband's family is the family that owned the original farm home of around 130 acres where the light appeared. Their house was the last one on the road, and it deadended on their land. The family sold the land and home about 40 years ago. After the family sold the place more homes have been added and road lengthened. The railroad is no longer there. The road is now called Cranford Road after the family. My husband can tell many tales from his childhood and experiences with the light. He was born in the original house there. I was always skeptical until one weekend visit with his parents, and it showed up, and I have never been so scared in my life. I have no explanation as to what it is, but it is real. Submitted by D

I saw the light many times. A lot of people claimed to have seen it, but if I talked to them very long I would know for sure if they saw it. It appeared to be about the size of a hubcap and ''flew'' down the tracks. It was not something that you wondered if you saw it or not. When you really saw it there was no question. As teenagers we would hang out there, so we saw it quite often if the conditions were right. It was best on rainy stormy nights. It was always a good place to take your girlfriend since she was certain to hold your arm and not let you out of her reach. One night it got within a few feet of a group of us. That was the best time that we ever saw it. It almost hit us. It was raining and very spooky that night.
