My grandparents lived one mile east of Flintville the railroad passed through their farm. We were living at Milners switch at the time about a mile and a half east of my grand parents home. I managed to build up enough stamina or bravery I don't know which and walked the track home.
The light appeared and goose bumps begin to form but I made it OK. The light faded as I got closer but I was running so fast just hitting every third cross tie it seemed. My mother said she didn't believe I did it.

I don't believe she ever changed her mind about this.

Comment by Bill: I don't know if the light is still in the area or not, they tore out the tracks a long time ago but I remember how it made me feel walking the tracks in the daytime where the light appeared at night. I know one thing, it got a lot of attention while I was growing up there as we lived about half mile from it.
People had to drive by my grandparents house to go see it.

Comment by Roy: I was in my mid twenties when we went up to see the light. Did not see the first time but went back a few days later. Think it was misting rain and that is when we saw it. It moved around some and seemed to change color. Did not get scared but also did not get any closer. Roy.

My husband and his family owned and lived on the farm where the Flintville light appeared. The farm was located on the railroad. They saw the light on a regular basis and was so used to it that it didn't phase them.
