I've lived in Mooresburg my entire life, and my dad had lived here the entirety of his. He's told me many stories from when he was growing up and also stories that were told to him from his parents, grandparents, aunt's, and uncle's. One that always stood out to me was about him and a buddy of his walking home from Gin Greene's old store. They both lived on 31 just a short walk from there store. It was around 9:30 or so during the summer so just after dark.

he said that as they walked along 31, all of a sudden out of nowhere a light appeared just across the ditch from them over in the field. This was in the
|
vicinity of Cook Cemetery. The light was just moving along side them. They slowed down; the light slowed down. when they sped up, the light would do the same. This continued for several minutes until the light began moving back from the road toward the woods. It went up into the cemetery, and dad said it seemed to just sink or fall into the ground, and it was gone.
