This happened in 2017 at Spring Hill Cemetery a couple of miles off highway 142 between Selmer and Stantonville, TN. I was there one November day, and it was gloomy and overcast. I was walking around looking at stones when I heard a very slow moving pickup approach. I walked to my car as the man pulled up. He looked to be about 75, and the truck was old and dark blue with no shine and rough paint.
The man asked me if I had seen his wife. He said

they lived at the farmhouse down the road, and he thought she had wondered off. He said he heard her calling him from the cemetery. I said no I haven't
|
seen her. I've been here reading stones and looking around. He told me that when he was young that he had dug some of the graves in the cemetery and what hard work it was, digging in that hard clay soil. He pointed to the graves that he had dug.
He soon left just as slowly as he came in. I got a really funny feeling that something was very off, and I suddenly realized that I couldn't remember the make of his truck, which was very unusual for me.
