My mother was born and raised in Cumberland City. She grew up on an old Civil War plantation called the Scott farm. Late at night they would hear footsteps going up the stairs. And voices coming from the old cellar, saw apparitions of what looked to be soldiers or slaves.

We went and visited it about 20 years back, took a good number of pictures. Every pic had some blurred image in it. We sat my niece on the bottom stair step and she looked really freaked out, we snapped the pic, she immediately jumped up and ran. She actually ran into a door.

And when we caught her she said mommy who was that man standing behind me. She said he was wearing a cowboy hat and a suit and had a sword on his side. When the pics were developed there it was, standing right behind her, couldn't make out much. It looked like an apparition of a man with cowboy hat and what looked to be a curved sword.
There was another plantation behind it but they destroyed it for a power plant. So much history gone ... Submitted by Chris
