Located two miles from Wildersville in Henderson County is the Scarce Creek Road Bridge. Close by is an old church that was built in 1835. The creek and the woods nearby are said to be haunted. Legend says that in the 1870s a young woman from the congregation of church committed suicide after her love affair with a married man was made public.
Shunned by the church and the community, she hanged herself from an old tree in the woods between the

creek and the church. Her ghost is said to roam the woods near the church and the creek. It was on a visit to see this old church that I had the uncomfortable

feeling I was being watched by someone as I admired the beautiful historic structure. It was a feeling of dread and vulnerability that went away after several minutes. Submitted by Ryan

Seven knocks on the house window next to where we were sleeping. No one was there. Not the first experience.
