I've lived near Skidmore for a long time now. At night me and a few friends would go out into the field and pretend to be a ghost. While people would watch the one in the field I would come up behind the car dressed all in black and bump the vehicle and make sounds. It's been a lot of fun messing with teens who come out to the road. However, as I am too old to do this, the ghost of Skidmore is now retired. We started doing that fyi because of the large

amount of teens and adults who would come out to the road and drink or do drugs. The sheriff department actually gave us the idea, and the Deputy that
|
would come done the road and saw us one night thought it was hilarious that we were taking an unusual approach at keeping illegal activities at bay on the old gravel road.

This was at my old house near the square. There would always be an old lady in a rocking chair that would sit near the office window and just look out the window. I know this because while we were renovating my room (painting, moving furniture, etc.) I was sleeping on the couch in the office, and I would encounter the old lady almost every night. I would see her, and before I fell asleep I would always say good night to make sure she was nice. She would occasionally mess with my brother's stereo by turning it off while he was asleep or flicker my lamp to let me know it was time to go to sleep. She is a nice spirit and likes kids. My old home used to be a nursing home, and the old lady was the only death while it was a running nursing home. She is a nice spirit, and we all liked her.
