I lived in Lamar, IN; but had an Evanston address. Lamar is a tiny little town and my small-ish white house sat between two great big Victorian homes just off the State Road. I had a stupid one year old Brittany Spaniel that I despised very much. I was laying on the couch just watching TV wide awake. When I heard a loud thump. I thought my 4 year old fell out of bed, but it wasn't him that I heard crying. It was the dog. Just shivering and shaking

in the middle of the hallway. He was reduced to a whining lump of fur. I thought that someone was in the house so I went to the butcher block and grabbed

a knife. The dog was still there whining when I got back. I checked out the rest of the house.
Nothing in the bathroom had fallen, the hallway wasn't disturbed. Nothing had fallen off the wall. And most disturbing of all my son was still in his bed. He didn't so much as move when I checked every cranny of his room and the house. The dog didn't move until I petted him and told him it was OK. I shrugged it off and put the knife back in the butcher
