In 2013 I came home, and I spent hours at the library in Crown Point looking through old news papers until I found the article I was looking for. Several months before we moved into the house, the owner of the house, distraught over the death of his wife committed suicide in the bathroom. With that article in hand, I now had a name and was able to find his

obituary notice which told me that he had been buried at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, less than four blocks away. I visited his grave and learned that he is

buried with his wife and two children who both died apparently at birth. It felt nice being able to put names with what we suspect are the playful ghosts who have haunted our house all of these years, and as far as I know, still do.

I lived in Gary many years ago. Many of the homes in Gary are built on what we suspect are Indian burial grounds. Our family moved into a newly built home in the 1950s, and that house was truly haunted. We have never seen anything to do with demons, but we could hear music playing in the house at night. One night I got up to go to the bathroom, and I was walking down the hall. In my mom's bedroom the street lights shone through the blinds, and I saw a silhouette of what looked like my mom from the shoulders up. It was after three in the morning.
