We had an old 70's style phone table on the opposite side of the wall from where we were all sitting together. While mid conversation I happened to be looking in the direction of that particular table. Suddenly, without warning, I saw the table pick up and slam to the floor. The table literally rose up as if someone had gotten angry and slammed it to the ground. Needless to say, conversation immediately ceased.
I looked at my husband and friends

and asked, ''did you just see that? '' everyone agreed with a resounding, ''yes. '' we all decided to go into the other room for the remainder of their

visit. That is just one of the many incidents we experienced while living there. I have always had an open mind but after living there, I am a true believer. Submitted by Nicole
Comment by Travis: Calumet High School is the most haunted school ever!!!! Ever since the school got remodeled into new tech people have been noticing more and more sightings! One time my computer typed and it wasn't me! And during a assembly the catwalk above us just started shaking!.
Comment by anonymous: Travis I don't know about the school being haunted or not but to me the most significant thing about that school is the fact USMC Sgt Winter graduated from that school. In 2002 she and four or five other marines were killed in the mountains of Pakistan along the Afghan border. I shared the tiny little base with them (not really a base but a camp. ) I remember sitting in a mess tent drinking coffee when someone rushed in and screamed out that we'd lost a bird referring to one of our C-130s. Long story short I had the honor of taking her body from our make shift morgue to the awaiting C-17 for the long ride home. Every year when I come home to Gary I go over to the cemetery in Merriville to pay my respects.
I didn't know her or any of those killed with her but I feel like I did. She was the first American female service member killed in action in this war which has now gone on for 15 years.
