Back in 1997 my husband and I bought a house on Birch Drive in south Hammond. One day we were all in the living room watching TV when we heard glass break. We walked into the bathroom to see that the huge bathroom mirror cracked. To this day we have no idea why it cracked. Also the back bedroom (which was next to the bathroom) was my son's bedroom. He was 3 at the time. His TV would turn itself on and change channels by itself random times of the day and

night. He also had toys that talked/made noises that would go off when no one was in his room. Garage side door and overhead door would open by themselves.

We always made sure they were closed and would wake up to them being open. You would hear music playing in the kitchen and smell coffee in the mornings. I can say nothing bad ever happened.

This incident took place on State Street in Hammond, IN right before you go under the Calumet Avenue bridge. It was about 8 years ago when I was going to Hammond High School. My family which included me, my mom, my 4 younger siblings, and my mom's husband at the time moved into this house. I was happy because we never had a house before, and it was pretty big (2 floors basement plus a front and backyard). My mom's friends (a woman, her boyfriend, and daughter) came to live with us for a little while, so my mom allowed them to turn the basement into their own. It was something about that basement that I NEVER went down there. The whole time we lived there (a year) I never even stepped foot on the steps.
