I used to do security at the Carmelite home back in 2008 and there were a lot of strange things happening while I was there.... I totally agree with everyone's input

I have been working as a security guard for over 2 years at the old Carmelite Home For Boys now under renovation and remodeling to become something else on Sheffield in Hammond and there have been a number of reports of strange occurrences.

As for myself I was doing my patrol through the building one afternoon when: wham! The 2 double doors leading to the dayroom slammed shut. I was the only one there and not to mention those doors were held open by a powerful magnet.

If it was electric it could have been a power failure but it wasn't. My understanding of ''Sister Lucy'' (the one that was in charge of the home) is that if she knew what became of the Carmelite Home For Boys she would ''turn over in her grave.''.

Comment by Javier: I worked at the home when it was the Carmelite Home For Boys for 19 years. Just inside of the magnetic doors next to the bathroom for visiting guests was a time clock and was the spot where Sister Lucy would regularly stand and observe staff clocking in and out to see who was coming in or leaving late that evening.
She would be in that spot alone as it grew dark but mostly late at night. Yes knowing Sister Lucy she would be very upset with the way things have gone with the home especially the tearing down of the convent.
