I am Jim's sister and the 'aunt'' mentioned in the story above. One new year's eve my sister (mom of above niece) and I were celebrating and decided to fix our hair in an upstairs bedroom for the occasion.
A few too many cocktails had us laughing and carrying on more than usual when we heard our mom making her way up. Just when the footsteps reached the top of the stairs a freezing cold burst of air made the door fly open and no one was there.
