room, into the kitchen, and then down the back stairs to the basement. On those days and nights, hundreds of little balls of light would float around the side of the house toward the back door and the basement. I guess it was Fred and many of his ghostly friends meeting in the basement.
Other things happened while we were in that house. My mother often said that she saw a man standing on the front porch in the middle of the night. Just standing

there, never knocking on the door or trying to come in. A man knocked on the door at two o'clock one morning and said he was selling magazines. We got

mysterious calls telling us to move out of the house. Of course, those things could have been just weird human activity. But Fred, well, Fred was real, and I bet he and his friends are still having meetings there.

We lived on N. Mount Street. As a kid me and my sister would hear someone walking up and down the hallway. We swore something was at the top of the stairs watching us frequently. I often felt something was in my room at night.
