After the Palm Sunday Tornado we moved into Indian heights. Over the years I have seen the same two things over and over in two places in the house. They are of a man walking ( just his boots and the bottom half of his pants ) and the swish of a calico skirt near the closet going into the bathroom. I am not sure if that house is built on the site of what could have been a log cabin at one time or not. However after the first few times I stopped being scared and just accepted it for what it was.

When I was seventeen I moved into an apartment on S. Union Street with my mother and brother. I had gone to spend a weekend at my friend's house; when I came back I saw my brother was scared about something. He told me not to go in my room and what he had seen. He said ''I saw an old man with no eyes. '' I laughed at my brother not believing him. Later that night I just got off the phone with my friend and started my homework. I heard a door knob rattle. I looked and saw nothing. A few minutes later I heard it again; still I looked up and saw nothing. After a while it was quiet. As I was finishing my homework and putting it away, I heard it again. This time it was faster. Then again and I could see my closet door knob rattle. Then from out of nowhere I felt my room getting cold. I could have sworn my room felt below zero. Then my closet door swung open. This time I thought it was the wind, so I checked my windows in my room to see if they were shut all the way, and they were so I went over and shut my closet door.
A few minutes later it swung open again and slammed into my bedroom door. So then I closed it again thinking nothing of it, but I opened my bedroom door to see if anyone had heard the loud bang from the doors, but everyone was asleep. I turned out my light and lay down, and maybe fifteen minutes later my closet door swung open and slammed harder on my bedroom door. Then I saw a dark figure coming out from my closet. It got closer to my bed, and I could see it was a tall old man with no eyes. I pulled the covers over my head hoping it would go away. Five minutes later it started warming up in my room, and so I pulled the covers off of me, and the man was gone. I ran into the living room and tried to sleep on the sofa.
The next morning I asked my mom and brother if they heard a loud bang from my room last night. They both said they didn't hear a thing. Then my brother looked over at me with a worried look on his face. He asked ''you saw the old man, didn't you?'' I just shook my head still scared by what I had seen. We told our mom what happened, and she didn't believe us. So I talked to my mom about moving, that I was afraid to sleep in that room, and she said we would move. A week later we moved from there.
