My husband, two small children, and I had lived in our 1849 house on Main Street in Madison in about six months. One Sunday night we went to bed, and the kids were asleep. We heard a party going on with voices murmuring, glasses clinking, and laughter, etc. It sounded like it was coming from the downstairs room beneath our bedroom. We looked out the windows, but the neighbors' houses were dark. There were o signs of parties. My husband just shrugged and

said to ignore it.
Later a neighbor told us the people who sold us the house had heard footsteps so clearly and often in the house that they even

called the police to check the premises. They found nothing, and so they put it up for sale. We regularly heard footsteps up and down the stairs but did OK co-existing with the unseen residents.

I love to walk downtown Madison Indiana and have many many times over the years. I have lived here for 35 years. I have always been a skeptic about ghost. Well, one night a girlfriend of mine and I were walking into Springdale Cemetery. It was a really late night in October around 11pm or midnight.
