Comment by Monique: I lived on elm Street for 17 years and my grandmother for 25 plus years and never heard of this. Where is the house? I also don't remember a house always having a rent sign in the window all the time.

It's funny that you list a story about activity on Cherry Street. I used to live on Short Street which is the street adjacent to Cherry and each Street is about three blocks long. When I was younger and lived at home with my mom on many occasions I recall sounds in the house that were unexplained.

Right after my sister was born my mom went to the basement to do laundry and she could here the distinct sound of footsteps upstairs. She went upstairs in a hurry, the doors were locked and no one was there.
On at least two occasions a dark figure was seen in the house once hovering above the bed. The next time in a doorway.
I had many friends stay the night at my house and a few that wouldn't stay more than once because of the sounds and the constant feeling of being watched. Many years after living there I was talking to a friend that was talking about this house he used to live in in Oakland City; said he always heard sounds and things happened he couldn't explain.
