I grew up in a very large house on Main Street. It is very old and had been empty for several years before my dad bought it. My dad had said even as a child he knew he wanted that house. I was five when we moved in there, and as a child I didn't have many experiences, but there would be noises, and my mom would say, ''Oh, it's just George, '' so we would laugh and go on.
My dad owned a gas station in town, and it's no longer there, but my mom

would go into the office at the house, count money, and do the books in there, and as she did so, the lights would go on and off. We also had a door that

led into the kitchen from the basement, and my mom always had a large knife wedged between the door and door frame, so the door wouldn't open from the other side because she would hear footsteps coming up the stairs. When my parents remodeled the home they eliminated this entrance. The stairs are still there, which to me is even creepier.
