I visited the Switzerland County Historical Museum in January 2010 with my mother. We had traveled from the northern Kentucky area. My mother frequented Vevay, Indiana often to antique shop and enjoyed the scenery, so I agreed to accompany her. She had passed the museum several times in the past and wanted to go through it this visit with me. The Historical Museum is actually an old church from the 1800s that had been converted into the museum. The building

itself had a story to it. When we first walked in we were greeted by a very sweet older woman who told us she would unlock the other Museum if we wanted

to go through it also, since she was the only one working and could not leave them unattended. My mother and I were both surprised that there was another museum, since this had been the only one we sighted initially.
I ventured away from my mother looking over old eating utensils, pictures, and machinery used around the turn of the century when I noticed stairs heading upstairs. My mother had caught up with me at this time, so we walked up the old winding
