I think there might be unknown graves in that back field, collapsed coffins under the cursed earth. I wouldn't sleep there if someone paid me to. Submitted by Captain

I lived in the middle house on 8th Avenue when I was a kid. It was horrible. I was scared to go in the basement. I always felt like there was something bad or evil, and it stank like burnt flesh like in all the other stories. One day my older brother dragged me down there and locked the doors. The lights went out. I was crying, screaming, and banging on the door. I felt someone behind me, but I knew no one else was in the house except for me and my brother. I saw through tear filled eyes a man surrounded by what I call fairy lights, and he was burnt and was smiling up at me.

That was it. I broke through the locked basement door, and passed my cruel brother. He suddenly went pale and said ''oh my go... '' Then he fainted. I ran out of the house and ran to the chapel across the street. I went back eventually, but my brother was still out. He face was pale white and covered in soot, smeared black. He never woke up and died in the hospice up in Louisville about five years later. The doctors said it was a very rare form of lung cancer that attacks the brain. I lost 25 pounds that year and couldn't sleep more than an hour without nightmares. I pray that God protects any family that chooses to live there. It's the middle house, Apt B.

I never lived on 8th Avenue, but I always heard stories of the middle house being haunted. My mother told me not to visit my friends due to the ''ma quemada.'' I was walking home from the gas station on Spearhead Division Road one night, and it takes you right by 8th Ave. As I was walking, I suddenly felt very sick - a high fever. I felt like I was choking. I fell to the sidewalk and began to throw up. Through my retching and blurry eyes I saw ''glow balls'' floating towards me with a see-through man walking with them.
I'm not saying it was a ghost, but you could see through him. I tried to stand, but I kept throwing up and dry heaving through blurry eyes. This ''thing'' walked towards me and smelled ''burnt'' like he had been smoking a pig all day like back in Puerto Rico. I then got up, covered in like and feeling like I was on fire and ran over to the chapel. As soon as I got to the church parking lot, I felt instantly better. I took off my shirt, threw it away in the dumpster behind the chapel, and ran home.
