for me. Suddenly she caught fire and was gone.
I got up to catch my daughter, but I was so drunk I fell and hit my head on the floor. The next day I decided to retire. I left the house and haven't been sober since. I got cancer in everywhere you can get cancer. I still drink myself to sleep every night. I just wanted to share my story and hope God shows mercy on the family that lives in that house now.

Comment by B.A.: I also lived on 8th ave and never saw anything but I would hear people ''talking'' anytime I was in the basement even when both my house was empty and the adjoining house was vacant. It always sounded like someone talking in the next room but I could never make out the words except it sounded like they were in a great deal of pain.
I also would smell the ''burnt pork'' smell in the basement at night. I always felt like the house and the whole street was under a blanket of dread. My family only lived there for a year and we were all glad when we left.
One of the neighbors died in the basement of one of the middle houses but I don't know if it is anyone from the other a hard experiences about 8th ave in Ft. Knox.

Oh my God! I thought I was the only one. I lived in the middle house on 8th Avenue too, and it was the worst eight weeks of my life. I was a young lieutenant, and my wife and my daughter moved into that hell house in early spring. I came home from a long day at work, and I found my wife crying in our bedroom. She said she saw something terrible in the basement. She said that I needed to move us from this house or she'd take our daughter and go stay with her parents.
