I lived at the townhouses on Southtown Boulevard when I was in elementary school and middle School. You couldn't pay me to move back there. The house was a two-story affair, and I refused to go upstairs by myself because the second floor creeped me out. When we first moved there everything was pretty benign. The door handle to our bedroom on the second floor would wiggle when my sister and I were playing in our room. The toilet on the second floor

would flood when no one was in the restroom. The front door would unlock by itself in the middle of the night. A shadow would race up the stairs while

we were watching television downstairs.
I can't define when things began to get worse, but they did. Maybe it was the first time I saw it. My bedroom opened into a hall right beside the bathroom. I always slept on the top bunk. I woke up one night and saw the light to the bathroom on. A little girl in a white night gown peered out of the bathroom eyes fixed directly on my sister underneath me. I could hear my parents downstairs watching television,
