I grew up in Durand. Two of the homes I lived in were haunted (One on Oakland and the other on Mercer). In the Oakland home I frequently felt my bed shaking and hands touching and tickling me. I sleep-walked and had night terrors. One night my parents found me rolling around in my closet screaming that I was blind. Another time my parents found me clawing at the screen trying to jump from my second story bedroom window. One night a line of shadow figures approached

my bed and one by one dissipated. My sisters described things that happened in the storage space in their room. My mother awoke one night to find a thick

fog all throughout the house.
I was told that a man had died in the Mercer home, and that his family had held a séance there. As kids my sisters and I had played a lot with a spirit board. I always felt watched and followed. I felt like running as I moved through the house, especially up the stairs and past the kitchen toward the back door. I was terrified of my bedroom closet. I had a dream in which I got in and it went down like an elevator and
