I lived on W Front St from the time I was 7 until I was 13. My sister and I shared the big bedroom upstairs and I used to hear voices coming from the attic. When you were downstairs you could hear someone walking around upstairs when no one was there.
I would be playing alone in my room and hear someone move behind me and I could hear breathing. My sister was coming up the stairs and heard a growl outside the window. Lots of things happened when we lived there and I was curious to know if anyone else knew of anything happening there?.

Comment by anonymous: Me and my sister grew up on west main. If you were on bridge st going toward fire station.... Go left on Main St. It was the first house on the left. A 2 story older home. I lived there from ages 6 to 12 or 13. 1978-1984 approx. Same ages you and your sister were. Different years?
Were you on the river side of Front Street? Or the house that would have backed up to mine on Main Street? There would have been a barn between our houses.
My house is gone now... It's a parking lot now. Anyways.... My mother swears that house was haunted. Activity in the attic - just like you are explaining. And the reason I find your description so interesting my mother didn't think the house was haunted so much....
So much as ''something'' fed off the energy of puberty aged girls. She called it some kind of ''poltergeist''. Our neighbors to the west had 2 young girls. And our neighbors on the other side of the alley had 2 young girls.
Now you describe you and your sister as 2 younger girls. That's a bit coincidental. I don't know about the one but the girls across the alley always said their house was ''haunted'' too. I think that whole block on the north side behind Prestons Bar needs to be investigated....

I was dating someone on Clinton St and one night we were watching hockey when I heard ''ma-ma'' from a little girl. We both looked at each other to see if the other had heard it and we did. She went to see if any of her children had gotten up.
