The college also has its share of phenomena. My freshman year I lived in Olds which girls joked was haunted by old Medda olds whose portrait was in the lobby - she does not look very friendly in the painting. Two girls down the hall on several occasions heard a voice in their dorm room saying ''heeyyy,'' so they eventually refused to sleep there anymore. There was also just a creepy feeling in the halls especially late at night. Another girl reported hearing scratching on the exterior wall, but it was on the second floor, and there were no trees near the building that could have made that noise. Finally, another girl was walking down the hall late at night, and at the end of the hall was a vending machine, and she swears she saw a white figure reflected in the vending machine, but it quickly vanished.
In the high tower of the Arb was reportedly where the president's daughter took her life. There have been reports of people hearing crying there at night after the Arb is closed and some sightings of her. The Kappa house experienced odd phenomena where objects were mysteriously moved, and sometimes objects would unexplainably be thrown off of a dresser or table.

The old house across from the SAI house reportedly was part of the Underground Railroad. The housekeeper there told me there was a ghost named Sophia that lived there and she would talk to her. Several residents had woken up in night to see a girl sitting on their bed looking at them. She was apparently a benevolent ghost and would sometimes move objects.

Finally, Mauck dorm I would say is haunted. I lived there, and there was never any real proof, but I often got goose-pimples, and it was cold and breezy. There were lots of unexplained sounds, and I always felt like I was being watched. The penthouse was locked up and not used for housing. A girl living on the top floor above the solarium swears she heard someone walking around, but there were no rooms above her, just the roof.
