Years ago we were coming from Canada into the States to Saskatchewan. We stopped in Iron Mountain at a motel that I believe is the Woodlands motel now. Anyway it was right off the main highway. My dad slept in the car for some reason, and my mom and I occupied the motel unit. Somewhere in the late night there was the sound of people running past the motel into what must have been the woods shouting. It was obvious they were headed toward something out there. It scared the heck out of my mom and I because it went on for a long time.
I thought maybe it was a cult. My dad said in the morning he too heard the strange sounds but stayed where he was in the car. Nobody saw him. As for myself after having eaten in a cafe I became as though I had been drugged. I remember having had a coke and never felt right after that. For most of the night I was like hallucinating, and my mom took care of me. I don't know what was going on in that town, but we all felt weird. Next morning we left for good.

Comment by Sheila: Hey, there. I don't know how long ago this was, but I lived in Iron Mt almost my whole life until recently. Being from there I have to say a lot of us feel there is a dark veil on that town. Being an empath and now finally living somewhere else but truly believe there is a dark history there. Henry Ford actually had a car plant in the neighboring city of Kingsford which makes me wonder why these towns aren't better known as almost as though there are deep dark secrets trying to be kept buried.
I have lived in several places that have been haunted, which I do believe as old as the town is. There are spirits overlapping each other because of so much death involving the mines (whose tunnels still run under the town), ethnic persecution, slavery, Indian land, etc.
I will be putting my own ghost story on here now that I know this page exists! The most haunted place I ever lived changed my family forever, and to this day I cannot find the history of this building I lived in. Weird. I hope you don't allow your bad experience to stop you from visiting there again because it truly has beautiful land to enjoy the outdoors.
