now. I pay rent!'' I thought that by telling them ''I pay rent'' I would make it clear that I had just as much right to the place as they did. There were other incidents with other members of my landlord's family as well. I do not know if the ghost was my landlord's dad or some other being from the house's long history. However, the evidence is overwhelming. There definitely was paranormal activity in that house. A little spooky and weird, but all in all

This is by no means a hoax or meant to offend the current owners of this home. I grew up in a house located on Union Street in Jackson, Michigan. When my family purchased the home it was known that the previous owners wanted to relocate to Florida after the death of their young daughter. It was believed that she had either died from a drug overdose in the home, or she committed suicide in the dwelling. Either way this is the story, and by all accounts is true to the best of my knowledge and memory.
My bedroom was located at the top of the staircase on the right hand side. When I was about seven years old I woke up out of a dead sleep, and looked at my doorway into the hallway. There was a free floating figure looking at me. It had no face and not much of a shape. It reminded me of what the typical ghost would look like with a sheet over its body and holes cut for the eyes. It was white with black eyes, and a strange shaped mouth. I remember trying to turn on my night light, and it would not come on. I stood up slowly and began walking towards the figure.
I remember the face becoming somewhat distorted. It looked at me with the puzzled look of ''what in the hell are you doing standing up? '' I started walking towards the figure, and it backed out in the hallway slowly. I was always kind of a ballsy kid, and I ran towards the doorway where the figure was floating. The ghost took off like a bat out of hell down the hallway and through a built-in chest of drawers located to the left of the next bedroom down the hallway. To this very day I remember what happened. It was not a mishap of a child's imagination. It was real, and this is by no means a fabricated tale. I know what I saw, and it was a ghost.
