Ghost Creek is located north west of Marion. In the early 1900s a train met another while building the tracks for logging. Several men died in the crash. It is said if you go to the creek late at night on the anniversary of that dread day, you can see the lanterns and hear the screams of the dying and mangled men as they lay waiting for the help to arrive. My father told me this story from the time I can remember. He experienced the lights

and sounds one night while walking the tracks home. He said he was never so scared in his life and said it was a true story on his death bed.
