Comment by Honey Dew Moon: It used to be the old regional center and it has seen a lot of deaths and heartbreak over the years no doubt it's very haunted. I think simply because of that. I did read a story years ago that they were digging up a parking lot in an apartment setting around there and they had coffins rise to the surface.
Yes that is a very old cemetery and it has a number of young child and baby headstones. I think it did spread out that way and it's been eons of time since gravestones marked the graves.
Comment by Tiffany: There is a hallway that frequently has a very strong urine smell! Seems like when I was talking to one of the admissions counselors the had said that the old section of the building used to be a mental hospital. I will check up on this!.
Comment by No name: Baker college was the regional retardation center in the 60's, 70s. The cemetery was part of the county poor farm (poor house) where people who had no place to go would live and work the farm. The property extended from Apple to Marquette. The cemetery was Muskegon's ''potters field''.

I'm convinced many places downtown are haunted and not just the historical houses of all the lumber barons of the late 1880's to 1890s. One place I find always having chills when I'm alone walking around parts of it is the hackley public library.
